"Free sample pack" usually means a demo with a price tag hiding inside it. These five passed a stricter test on October 14, 2026: the download is actually free, the page is actually live, and what's inside is worth the disk space. No affiliate links anywhere in this list.

The honest catch: Ghosthack's page says it hands out a limited number of copies per week, and 1.95 GB is a real commitment of bandwidth and disk. Grab it when you see it available.

The honest catch: everything sits behind an email unlock, and a catalog that big means sifting — expect to keep a third of what you download. That's still a lot of free sound.

Free Tech House Bassline MIDI — Modern Tastemaker Ours
Six bassline patterns as pure MIDI — one from each of our RIPPER bassline families: the driving Offbeat pulse, the sustained Reese root, the Sub-Pulse four-note pattern, a rolling 32-note Acid line, an Evolve line that develops across the loop, and a 15-note Melodic line across the full natural-minor scale. Standard MIDI follows whatever tempo your project runs at (reference tempo 126 BPM), and every note count and pitch was measured file by file in QC — the pattern on the label is the pattern in the file.
The honest catch: MIDI is silent. You bring the synth; these bring the groove. If you want the same six patterns rendered as audio, the free FIRST TASTE pack is the companion.

99Sounds — the whole catalog
99Sounds has run on one promise for years — "we make FREE sounds and sound effects" — and the catalog backs it up: sound-design-grade packs, all free. Two long-running picks: Percussa Toolbox, 89 percussion samples recorded at 24-bit/96 kHz, including bowed cymbals, ocean drums and thunder tubes alongside shakers and frame drums; and Kick Drum, 120 key-labeled kick samples with SFZ and Kontakt patches for each one — key-labeled kicks are rarer than they should be, and they drop straight into a sampler in tune.
The honest catch: it's one pack at a time on an old-school site — no giant bundle button. The per-pack quality is exactly why it's on this list.
