Privacy, in plain English

We run our own website statistics. No advertising trackers, no data brokers, nothing sold — just counts that tell us which pages and packs people actually use.

What we count

Our first-party analytics script records visit statistics and folds them into totals:

We use these numbers to fix what is broken and make more of what is useful. The statistics do not include your name, your email address, or the contents of anything you type into a form.

The one cookie

This site sets one first-party cookie, called syb_vid, for 12 months. It holds a random ID that lets us tell a first visit from a return visit. The same script keeps a small first-party browser record of the first-visit date and visit count for the same reason.

The cookie belongs to this domain only, and the ID is sent only to our own analytics service when a visit is counted. It is not an advertising cookie and it does not follow you to other companies’ sites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the store still works; a return visit may simply be counted as new.

Email

If you join The List or use another signup form on this site, we keep the email address you give us so we can write to you about the thing you signed up for — new packs, launch offers, and free drops. We do not sell email lists, and we do not share addresses with data brokers. Every signup can be left again; ask and we will remove you.

Buying

Checkouts and downloads run through Gumroad, which handles payment and delivery under its own privacy policy. We receive the order information we need to run the store and help with an order.

Questions or deletion

Write to andrew@moderntastemaker.com. For an email-list removal, write from the address on the list where you can. For a statistics question, tell us the site and roughly when you visited — the IDs are random and carry no name, so the dates help us find the right records.

The short version: one first-party cookie counts visits — nothing sold, nothing shared.
